Jason "Still" Waters' life looks perfect from the outside—money, fame, and the words "World Champion Bull-Rider" after his name. But Jason has a secret, one he never planned on telling anybody...until he meets Simone. She's the kinky girl of his dreams...and his conservative family's worst nightmare.
Picture Perfect Cowboy is a western romance from USA Today bestseller Tiffany Reisz, set in her award-winning Original Sinners series. This category-length novel* is the perfect jumping-on point for new readers!
* A heavily abridged version of PICTURE PERFECT COWBOY was previously published in the limited-edition EXPOSED anthology as the novella “The Watermark” (now out of print). This new edition contains an exclusive Original Sinners short story guest-starring Mistress Nora!
This was a nice, short read; specifically for me on a Saturday afternoon after a long, ugly week at work.
This is set (loosely) in The Original Sinners world; our heroine Simone, tattooed with pink hair, works as a photographer but also at (you guessed it) The 8th Circle as a sub. Simone is taking erotic photos of sexy men to be included in a calendar for charity.
Jason “Still” Waters is a retired rodeo champion-tight jeans, cowboy hat – the works – who reluctantly agrees to replace a friend who had agreed to pose for the calendar. As the photos are being taken, Simone manages to get Jason to drop his guard and relax. He finally admits that he would be interested in her services as a sub.
I loved our heroine Simone, and her confidence in who she is. She is not ashamed of her lifestyle and not afraid to share it. Jason, on the other hand, fights his dominant urges (his “kinks”) because of probably what anyone else would worry about – family. Oh my, what will the family think?? Plus he wonders… is there something wrong with him for feeling like he does?
What follows is how Jason and Simone spend the next few days, and how Simone draws out of Jason his feelings and urges without making him feel “wrong” for those very things. She is encouraging and of course, non-judgmental. There is some guidance from her as well, as Jason has not acted on his urges.
I just found the book to be wonderful; not just for lovely, erotic, hot love scenes. It is nice to read a book with these kinds of themes that have characters who feel no shame in their kinks and anyone who has problems with it can just fuck right the fuck off. Your life is yours and if you want to enjoy your kinks and/or fetishes, then you should do it. That, I feel, was the very real message of this book.
